The details below explain the evidence in plain language and clearly identify what remains unknown.
Vice City is the main Grand Theft Auto 6 city, and it sits inside the wider fictional state of Leonida. Rockstar has also named the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
That is the reliable setting answer today. Rockstar has not published a complete navigable map, exact area measurement or official percentage comparison with GTA V. Community projects can be interesting, but they are reconstructions rather than the final map.
Evidence guide
| Label | Meaning on this page |
|---|---|
| Officially stated | A name or description published by Rockstar |
| Clearly shown | A feature visible in an official trailer or screenshot |
| Editorial observation | A cautious description of visible official media |
| Unknown | Information Rockstar has not published |
Leonida
Officially stated: Leonida is the fictional state containing Vice City and the other profiled destinations. Clearly shown: official media moves between dense streets, coasts, wetlands, islands, industrial areas and inland landscapes.
The name and featured regions are official. Exact county lines, coordinates and the playable outer boundary are not established by the first-party material we checked.
Vice City
Officially stated: Vice City is a central setting in GTA VI. Clearly shown: official media includes beaches, towers, traffic, nightlife, neighbourhood streets and waterways.
Rockstar confirms the city’s presence, but it does not provide a public street-by-street map in the sources used here. A fan-labelled road network should not be confused with an official interactive map.
Confirmed locations
| Location | What Rockstar establishes | What remains unknown |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Main named city within Leonida | Complete districts, street grid and boundary |
| Leonida Keys | Island-chain region | Total islands and full playable coastline |
| Grassrivers | Wetland region | Exact size and traversal limits |
| Port Gellhorn | Gulf-coast destination | Complete urban boundary and activity list |
| Ambrosia | Industrial area in Leonida | Full map position and accessible area |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | Northern wilderness setting | Complete trails, edges and elevation |
These names come from Rockstar’s Only in Leonida presentation and official media. Descriptions on this page are paraphrased so readers get a simple reference without copying promotional text.
How to read Rockstar’s geography
Rockstar’s six profiled destinations are useful as a list, not as a scale drawing. Its official screenshot gallery labels images by place: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga National Park. These labels are strong evidence that each name belongs to GTA VI. They do not show where every border falls or how long a drive between locations will take.
| Reader question | What the first-party material answers | What it does not answer |
|---|---|---|
| Is Vice City the whole setting? | Officially stated: Vice City is in Leonida, alongside other profiled destinations. | Whether every part of Leonida is playable. |
| Can I see each region? | Officially stated: Rockstar publishes labelled screenshots for all six. | Whether every pictured spot can be entered or visited. |
| Is there an official interactive map? | Rockstar publishes location profiles and media. | A complete playable map with roads and markers is not published. |
| Is a fan reconstruction accurate? | It can be compared with official shots. | Rockstar has not verified its scale, roads or coastline. |
This matters when a search result calls a community image “the GTA 6 map.” It may be a thoughtful project, but the official material currently supports named places and selected views, not a complete plan of the world.
Leonida Keys
Officially stated: the Leonida Keys are one of Rockstar’s profiled destinations. Clearly shown: official visuals include islands, bridges, coastal travel and boats. The total island count, offshore boundary and number of accessible interiors are unknown.
Grassrivers
Officially stated: Grassrivers is Leonida’s wetland region. Clearly shown: wildlife, shallow water and watercraft appear in official media. A complete species or activity list is unknown.
Port Gellhorn
Officially stated: Port Gellhorn is a distinct destination on Leonida’s Gulf coast. Its exact boundary, street plan and position on a complete official map are unknown.
A named location does not tell us its playable size. A promotional scene may include roads and buildings beyond the camera while leaving their accessibility unanswered. For now, the Rockstar gallery is a firmer reference for what Port Gellhorn looks like than a fan outline.
Ambrosia
Officially stated: Ambrosia is a named industrial destination. Its precise playable footprint and position on a complete map are unknown.
Mount Kalaga National Park
Officially stated: Mount Kalaga National Park is a named wilderness destination in northern Leonida. Its exact trail system, highest point and playable boundary are unknown.
Mount Kalaga’s official name makes it tempting to calculate the game’s northern limit from a fan map. That would go too far: a labelled national park is not a published border for Leonida or the playable world.
Official facts versus community mapping
Fan map projects often combine trailers, screenshots, perspective estimates and leaked material. Even careful work can change when a new trailer appears, and leak-derived data creates both accuracy and copyright problems.
If you use an interactive fan map, check its legend. An official place name, an estimated placement and a leak-derived road are three different kinds of claim. A map without a visible evidence key can make them look equally certain. We do not embed a reconstruction as if Rockstar had released it.
Search results also surface older “2015 GTA 6 map” images, leak collages and interactive community maps. Those are not the same thing as Rockstar publishing the final map. A useful fan map should clearly separate what is official, what is inferred from a trailer, what is guessed from perspective, and what came from unverified or leaked material.
| Map result you may see | How to treat it |
|---|---|
| Rockstar location profile | Strong source for a place name and broad setting description |
| Official screenshot label | Strong source that the named place exists in GTA VI |
| Trailer landmark comparison | Useful observation, but exact placement can be wrong |
| Interactive fan map | Interesting reference only if it labels evidence levels clearly |
| Old “2015 map” or leak image | Do not treat it as the final GTA 6 map |
| “Full map size” estimate | Unverified unless Rockstar or reliable post-release measurement supports it |
This keeps the page focused on one search intent: what the GTA 6 map is officially known to include. Character biographies, trailer breakdowns and screenshots have their own pages so map claims do not get mixed with unrelated speculation.
We use a stricter boundary:
- Officially stated: a name or description published by Rockstar.
- Clearly shown: a visible feature in official media.
- Editorial observation: a cautious interpretation of that media.
- Community claim: a placement, size or boundary inferred by fans.
- Unknown: information Rockstar has not published.
Only the first two categories are used to describe the setting here, and observations are not upgraded into promises.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
There is no verified number to give. Rockstar had not published square kilometres, a complete scale or an official “times bigger than GTA V” claim in the sources checked on September 19, 2026.
A large-looking horizon or a fan overlay cannot measure playable land. Camera lenses, perspective and inaccessible scenery all affect visual estimates. We will add an exact figure only if Rockstar publishes one or reliable post-release measurement becomes possible.
Will the map expand?
No expansion plan was confirmed in the first-party map material checked for this page. Statements about evolving worlds from reports or interviews should not be rewritten as a guaranteed launch feature. This page will track official location announcements and keep speculative geography out.
Questions about the setting
Is GTA 6 only in Vice City? No. Rockstar names Vice City within Leonida and profiles five other destinations. That does not establish that every point between them is accessible.
Has Rockstar released the final map? Not in the first-party sources checked for this guide. Named locations, screenshots and videos provide a growing view of the setting, but not a complete road-and-boundary map.
Are the six profiles the only places in the game? Rockstar has featured six destinations. That is not the same as saying there are exactly six playable areas, cities or districts.
Can trailer landmarks prove exact positions? A visible landmark supports a cautious observation, but camera angle, editing and missing scale make exact placement an inference. Keep it labelled that way.
