Rockstar’s official GTA 6 screenshot gallery contained 99 images when checked on September 19, 2026. View or download them from the GTA VI screenshot gallery.

The official gallery is the source of truth for the current count and files. This guide adds verified context without republishing it as an unofficial image dump.

What appears in the official gallery

The gallery covers the two protagonists, supporting characters, urban and rural environments, vehicles, businesses, coastlines and social scenes. Rockstar’s labels connect many images to named people and places.

Useful groups include:

• Jason and Lucia together and separately.
• Named supporting figures such as Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike and Raul Bautista.
• Vice City streets, beaches and nightlife.
• Other parts of Leonida, including the Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga.
• Cars, boats, aircraft and motorcycles visible in official promotional scenes.

Which locations have named screenshot groups?

Rockstar’s screenshot index labels image groups for Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. Officially stated: those names are part of the publisher’s gallery organization. That helps readers place an image without relying on a fan map. It does not establish the exact border, size or travel time for any region.

Images grouped under Jason or Lucia can likewise help identify a protagonist. A caption or category is stronger identification evidence than guessing from a small figure in the background. If the gallery does not name a person in a frame, describe what is visible without assigning an identity.

What an official screenshot confirms

An official image confirms that Rockstar chose to show that scene, subject or visual detail in GTA VI marketing. If Rockstar labels the image with a character or place, that label is officially stated evidence.

It may support a careful sentence such as “a boat is visible in an official screenshot.” It does not automatically support “this exact boat is purchasable, customizable and available in every mode.” Those extra claims need their own first-party evidence.

What screenshots do not prove

Screenshots cannot establish the complete map boundary, total number of interiors, final frame rate, all playable characters, a full vehicle list or a mission sequence. Those details remain unknown unless another official source answers them.

We also avoid identifying tiny background items as named weapons or vehicle models unless Rockstar provides the name. A visual resemblance is an observation, not official confirmation.

That last distinction is why a collage of scenery cannot serve as an “official full map.” The map guide records which places Rockstar names and keeps map measurements separate.

Official image or fan-made image?

Check where the image is hosted. The GTA VI media pages on Rockstar’s domain are the simplest reference. Reverse-cropped versions, AI images and fan mock-ups often lose labels and source context as they spread across social feeds.

Look for these warning signs:

1. The post gives no link to Rockstar’s gallery or Newswire.
2. Text, logos or interface elements look distorted.
3. The image claims to expose a complete map or unreleased menu.
4. A site asks you to download a file to unlock “full resolution.”
5. The image is described as official only because another fan account reposted it.

Our own illustrations are clearly captioned as original editorial artwork. They use a 3D cartoon visual style and are not intended to look like screenshots.

Downloading and image quality

Use Rockstar’s download controls for the files and sizes it currently offers. A third-party page promising “uncompressed,” “hidden” or “4K unlocked” images may be serving a resized copy, an edit or an unsafe download.

The gallery count can change. A repost’s date is also not proof of when Rockstar first published the original image, so use Rockstar’s label and media page when recording provenance.

A practical way to cite a screenshot

Open the image inside Rockstar’s gallery, note its displayed group or label, and link to that gallery when discussing it. State only the observation you need: “Rockstar groups this image under Port Gellhorn” is more precise than “this proves the entire northern coast is playable.” If a later gallery update changes the image order, the place name and first-party link still give readers a way to check the claim.

We do not assign an individual publication date to every image unless Rockstar supplies one. A date on a third-party repost may describe the repost rather than the original image.

Accessibility and useful descriptions

A good screenshot description should explain the main subject, action and setting without turning guesses into facts. “A character stands beside a car on a coastal street at sunset” is useful. “The player begins mission 42 beside a purchasable supercar” is not supported unless Rockstar says so.

This approach helps screen-reader users and keeps the page honest. It also makes later corrections easier because the description records what is visibly present, not what an editor hoped the image meant.

Current gallery status

Our September 19 check found 99 screenshots in Rockstar’s gallery. The wider media area also listed three long-form videos, nine clips, 51 Ultimate Edition images, 12 Vintage Vice City Pack images and 23 artwork/wallpapers. Those are separate media categories, not part of the 99-screenshot count.

The distinction matters when another site claims a higher “screenshot total.” It may be counting promotional artwork, edition images or short-video thumbnails as screenshots. This guide follows the category names in Rockstar’s media library, so the count remains understandable even when the library adds new material.
